Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of commonsnail.com and the Common Snail print subscription (the "Service"), run by Hillworks LLC, a New Mexico LLC ("we," "us"). By subscribing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
Common Snail is a monthly print publication mailed to business owners, leaders, multi-hyphenates, and community organizers. It's a brand of Hillworks LLC.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to subscribe.
3. Subscriptions
Billing. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
Promotions. From time to time we may offer discount codes or promotional pricing to eligible subscribers. Any such offer is subject to its own stated terms (including duration and eligibility) at the time it's presented.
Cancellation. Cancel anytime by emailing support@commonsnail.com. Cancelling stops future billing—it doesn't refund the current period.
Refunds. All sales are final, including for delayed or missed mail delivery, except where the law requires otherwise.
Price changes. If we raise prices, we'll notify existing subscribers before it applies to them.
4. Shipping
We mail issues to addresses in the United States and Puerto Rico. Keep your mailing address up to date—we're not responsible for issues lost or delayed due to an outdated address or postal service delays.
5. Content Ownership
Everything in Common Snail—writing, design, layout—belongs to Hillworks LLC or its licensors. Don't reproduce, resell, or redistribute it without our written permission.
6. Acceptable Use
Don't use the Site unlawfully, try to disrupt it, misrepresent who you are, or resell our content.
7. Third-Party Tools
We use Stripe for payments, Kit for email, and Airtable for internal records to run the Service.
8. Disclaimers
Common Snail shares general business insights for informational purposes—it's not legal, financial, or tax advice. We provide the Service "as is" and don't guarantee uninterrupted access or specific delivery timing.
9. Limits on Liability
To the extent the law allows, Hillworks LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the three months before the claim.
10. Disputes and Arbitration
Please read this—it affects your rights. Disputes will be resolved through individual binding arbitration, not court or a class action, except that either of us can use small claims court where it applies. Arbitration follows American Arbitration Association rules and takes place in New Mexico unless we agree otherwise. You can opt out by emailing support@commonsnail.com within 30 days of agreeing to these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by New Mexico law, except where the arbitration section above applies.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. The version posted here is the one that applies. Continued use of the Service means you accept it.
